The KTO Project Concert Review at Ashkenaz, May 12, 2006

Hot Flash!!!
Caught The KTO Project Friday 12 May at Ashkenaz... Wow! What a fun group!!!
Kelly Takunda Orphan was all over her percussion table, congas and bongos as she locked up with the band's
all-star rhythm section. She also delivered several uplifting lead vocals.
Michelle Jacques and Amber Hines got their grooves on while putting some soulful air under Kelly's wings and having serious fun doing it. Many men on the audience were on "Amber Alert" as Ms. Hines moved everything that could move in ways we had no idea they moved!
Tru, the band's newest member was simply sick once he locked in with KTO's great rhythm section (Victor Little on bass, Manas Itene on drumset, Bob Crawford on keyboards). Donna Viscuso's soprano work was serene and beautiful.
My favorite tune was, of course, was titled 'Resisting'. It took me on an incredible journey filled with gorgeous solos and suprises.
Keep an eye on this group!
They're destined to make much more joyful noise
and go places found in fairytales and dreams.
